Trisha has lived in Lawrence County since childhood. She obtained her Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2013 and has worked in contracts, grants, research and finance for more than a decade. She lives in Williams with her husband, Ryan, and son, Maxwell. Trisha is a fierce advocate of educational choice – and is proud of the family LCIS has assembled to provide the first school-choice institution in Lawrence County.
CHAD SHOCKVice President
Chad has been employed at NAVFAC Crane for over 17 years in Facilities with a 2 year stint at IU Health Bedford Hospital as the Director of Plant Operations. He obtained his associates degree in industrial technology with a specialty in HVAC from Ivy Tech Bloomington. As an Eagle Scout from Troop 343 in Springville and lifelong resident of Lawrence County, Chad has volunteered countless hours with various not-for-profits throughout the community. He feels very strongly that education is not a one-size-fits-all and that school choice is very important.
Holly is a lifelong resident of Lawrence County. She obtained her associate’s degree in nursing from Ivy Tech Community College and worked as a pediatric nurse for 9 years. As a wife and mom of five, she enjoys being active in the community and finding ways to give back. She is passionate about LCIS’ mission to provide school choice to local families.

Jami is a lifelong Lawrence County resident. She graduated Bedford North Lawrence High School in 2003 with her Certified Nurse’s Aide, which she attained through the vocational center. As a wife and proud mother of two boys, she enjoys volunteering in her community. She is an active cub scout leader and merit badge counselor. She also runs her own Photography business.
JERRY SONHEIMBoard Member
Jerry has spent many years working with children and youth through his church and community events. He has a strong drive to help with and contribute to the community. Jerry has an amazing wife and two brilliant children who he is very proud of. He loves making kids laugh and being silly with them. One of Jerry’s proudest accomplishments is going to Haiti twice and helping build two school buildings.

Jennifer has lived in Springville since 2009. Married to Jeffrey Armstrong and a mother to four children 29, 25 & 10 year old boy/girl twins. Graduated from Strayer University in 2007 with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration Management. I am proud to be a part of the LCIS family. I am homeschooling my twins and excited to advocate for homeschooled children to attend LCIS. My children are excited to attend Music, Art, Steam Lab and other extracurricular activities at LCIS.

Jason graduated from Vincennes University with a degree in Graphic Design and works at Precise Systems. He is a member of the Lions Club and coaches t-ball. As a devoted husband and father, he is excited to be part of LCIS and make a difference for not only his children, but for generations to come.

Brian is a father of five. He graduated from Vincennes with an Associate of Science in Architectural Drafting and has worked at Bybee Stone for 26 years as a draftsman. He is active in his sons’ scout troop and enjoys camping. School choice is important to him and he is proud to be part of LCIS.

Lawrence County Independent Schools (LCIS) is a K-8 public charter school located at 223 Old Farm Road, Bedford, Indiana serving Lawrence County and over 300 students. LCIS was founded in 2020 by passionate parents, community members, and founding teachers Tim Baker, Brian Young, and Carrie Young. They are thrilled to blaze the trail and bring school choice to Lawrence County, rising out of what once was to create something new and brilliant like the phoenix.
